2.5 hours gone and no mention of Shola Ameobi the Geordie who ensured the Geordie nation can leave the house tomorrow morning!

Dowie was our man at Palace. He left because he claimed he wanted to be near his family in the North .... so got the job at Charlton. With a gift for the surprising turn of phrase he once described a player as having "heart the size of bucket".

"Rocket man" is something of a legend down here....although not quite sure why.

anyway, Charlton is north of you.......
London pretty much counts as north , where I come from !!

So Calum has Big Sam got West Ham playing in the time honoured manner i.e. "high culture"?

well I am all for difference of opinion.
I was reliably informed years ago that Geordies referred to scousers as "soft southern *********s " !!!

dunno about their playing style, (which is OK), but he is proving to be by a mile the most annoying manager in the championship. And he is up against he likes of cotterill and poyet.

West ham do seem to be assuming some kind of divine right to regain their PL status, which it does look like they will do, sadly.
(having spent squillions and bought every available striker in the known universe.)

No offense to WHU fans, obviously !!
