You are, of course, quite correct. Every goal from that distance and position requires an element of 'fair wind' no matter how perfect the shot as much depends on the bounce of the ball and goalkeeper reaction. However, Cisse's shot was as perfect and intentional as any great goal I've seen, with the total surprise element and the curve on the ball being the impressively decisive factors.
The goal that Liverpool's Suarez recently scored was another case in point ... there was no curve here, just perfect length and execution, not to mention initial awareness of the goalkeeper's position (which I now have!) ... it was obviously no 'fluke' to many close-up TV observers like myself, but I'm sure there will be those who claim it was!
