Blinkin' Nora, I'd only just managed to learn the guy's name!
Scottish Championship bottom side St Mirren terminate the contracts of manager Alex Rae and his assistant, David Farrell.

Union Deportiva Lanzarote 1 Club Deportiva Buzanada 5

Cracking game played in the midday sun.
Decent standard, some quality goals, the home side's one via a free kick similar to the Roberto Carlos goal in the Tournoi de France, late 90s?.
The many English,Scots holidaymakers and ex pats in the small crowd generated a good atmosphere.
            Well worth €8 ticket price.

Thanks for the postcard, Rob. Sounds like you had a grand time of it. Were you in sombra or was it full factor 50?

Plenty tripe being played up here, ts. Thanks for the support. Fortunately I had lots of solace in that I was en route to the magnificent Gloaming in Usher Hall last night when the score came through. The Buddies never win when they're on BBC Alba - mind you they never win when they're not on either. The concern is that having binned the manager they're sniffing around some former holders of the post, to my mind never a hopeful sign. Do I detect the creak of a trapdoor? I'm left wondering who we can beat in this league.

                          Sunday round up.

St Mirren apparently looking at Calderwood and Butcher to fill the hot seat.

                          West Ham 0 Southampton 3.

Excellent victory built on a really good defence. Puel winning the fans over ,and Charlie Austin rapidly becoming a fans favourite.

Very good performance indeed Sainty. Looks like Saints have recovered yet again from potentially injurious departures.

Next match at King Power promises to tell us a bit more about our beloved teams.

I always fancied Charlie for Leicester, there was some talk of our signing the player.

Good grief, Sam Allardyce and Nigel Pearson have both been sacked. What next?
