SO, wall charts up ?
Beers in?
Social calendar cleared?
Who knows, England might win the thing.
Theoretically.........
The thing is wide open; German defense has been shoddy since 2014, Spain still got top players, the European tourney has always been a good stage for smaller countries, so Belgium, or Island. The English team has the quality, too (they almost always have). Not so sure about "single player" teams like Portugal, Sweden and Wales. My money is still on France, but there is no dominant team.
Stockport County has suffered under the shadow of the Manchester clubs more than any other. It is, of course much closer in distance than any other, though it has had better periods in its history. When I first became aware of the team, it was at the bottom of Division 4 and had to apply for re-election (which almost always happened).
I remember when the Manc clubs would play pre and mid season freindlies at SCFC to help out, nowadays they go to the USA,UAE and Asia.
'There's too many effers and Jeffers around', as me old auntie was know to remark. Vardy would be crazy to go as far as I can see...but what do I know?
Yes, miserable stuff all this waiting. And there was me thinking Vardy was the least likely of our stars to jump ship.
You could make up a very tidy team of ex Saints players from the last couple of yearswho were happy, loved the club, kissed the badge, very happily settled in new forest mansions etc etc, and that you couln't see for dust when an offer to double their wages came along.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
