    Great Player Derek Randall.
more or less invented modern fielding, and a fine and entertaining batsman.

and Jayne, If you read this, your fashion thoughts needed on the " Last Concert" Thread.....

Well done John, let's take a look at the league tables again ....
I saw the game Alison,Leicester were superb, the other team were very poor today though, which is always good.

Apart from all that, things are looking, er....interesting. As in "teamsheet for Tuesday should be interesting..."

This night owl dragged herself out of bed for coffee & croissants & Leicester away to.... The Citizens (that one OK, Edge...?). How steely cool the Foxes looked. Just one 87th-minute wobble at 3-1, and even Aguero picked the wrong shot (I like Michael Owen's use of the word "recycle" for what strikers pushed wide should do instead of attempting to score from impossible angles).

Watching Vardy's style or gait - flatfooted whippet with a coathanger in his shoulders - I was reminded of - who was that? Finally I got it - anyone recall Derek Randall, cricketer for Notts and England?

But the SkyBlues were in their too-familiar listless mode, the one which helped Liverpool to that 4-1 victory at the Etihad and gave us fond illusions of "doing a Leicester"....
        Oh, happy days....

Touched by some of the home fans holding a banner with Pellegrini on it which read "This Charming Man"....all say ahhhh...
But Pellegrini, near the end, wore the look of Peter O'Toole as King Priam, grimacing as Troy burns....

You can buy the best players, you can pay them their mercenary sums but you can't buy the team spirit and the fight for the cause. Nigel built it and a very likeable Chelsea management reject has continued it.

I never cease to be amazed at the ineptness and squandering of cash on managers and players in the over pampered premiership, or the mismanagement of finances once they fall out - Wigan and i think Blackpool are still benefiting and disadvantaging other sides in Div 1.

                      Hiya Cloughie,

The general consensus seem to be that the only people that seem to be benefiting from Blackpool's parachute payment from leaving the Premier League are the owners. Many people say that they have trousered millions of £s.

Maybe less subtly than the owners of some of the big clubs!
