Bad luck with that, jc, but I imagine the Raith travelling support will have been even more dischuffed.

Many thanks to ER for the comprehensive results coverage. A mixed set of results for forum teams. Hereford continues to do well playing clubs with strange names - how delightful to be playing a team called Nirvana, perhaps playing a bit too peacefully to be effective. It sounds as though Everton were doubly robbed at Stamford Bridge, a touch of "home" refereeing possibly.

Poor John. Sounds all very atmospheric. Must look up pakora and Killie Pies!

Well done Cloughie, saw some of the match on Sky.

Good win for Saints and a bit envious of the new signing.

New era at Stockport. No snow there?

Alison top of the table but still disappointed ...

Oh come now Alison...pakora is the delight of the eastern buffet cuisine - we like everything deep fried up here - veggie, chicken...you can even get haggis pakora these days...they must have it in Leicester.
Killie pies is a different thing - Kilmarnock FC pies are renowned as a half time delicacy - in fact year-on-year voted best pie in the galaxy - so much so they export the buffet variety to some of the surrounding grounds, I found out today. They're steak and gravy - here's a picture.

          Hi Alison

Ex player, captain and legend Mike Flynn, currently on the coaching staff, was in charge today.
          He doesn't want the job though,which is a pity,but here's hoping.
A few snow flurries during the game, plenty on the ground now.
          For Pakora think fritter

Cheers John. The pie is making me feel quite hungry, the pakora rather less so.

See you've got Hibernian next week ....

Fair summary and grateful to Rob for the asterisks. Surprisingly, reports and MotD highlights suggest Palace weren't quite so awful as the score line indicates, but no goals in five league matches for the first time since 1998. Striker needed! Thank goodness for the Cup (sorry, ts). Big family outing to Selhurst for Spurs match next Saturday on our daughter's birthday, followed by a night out in Balham. We know how to live!

By half-time it looked like.... "more of the same..." bright start, quick descent into scrappy mediocrity....gifted goals.
But the second half?! Did you SEEE! that, etc. A true comedy of errors, Steve Macmanaman commented that he'd never seen a game with so many mistakes. Each side seemed to WANT to give the ball away every few seconds. Yet we still showed what we might do, a bit of luck inspiring some creative counter-attacks. The advantage gained given away by inability to defend, high balls especially. But those 5 added minutes...?

Demoralised and drooping by the 92nd, Mum and I were doing a version of Klopp's 95th minute group hug in our TV room! Ed and Delia looked suitably crushed. Tuesday night is going to be unbearable....(and probably very long...)

(Biggest plus-point? Firmino might still become the striker we need... take "talent", just add "application"... Bundesliga-style).

And speaking of Stoke: Leicester's 3-0 dismissal of them looks very impressive. The foxes are weathering the storm...
