What a let down - on one of the few occasions I actually got to watch my club playing.

Interesting how after the match the Italian commentators (including Arrigo Sacchi) were al enthusiastic about a gripping game, whereas the lady on R4 this morning said it had been dull.

me? er thanks for the commiserations jayne lee wilson but my dispirited mood is unabated - les bleus are flattering to deceive methinks .... not enough goals and no invincibility [as in the Drogba era]

contemplating the European contests we are doing rather poorly all told this year


having just watched Crystal Palace knock the proverbial out of QPR, i do not see how QPR can sustain a place in the Premier League this season .... and alas the Foxes are no houdini team imv ... who else for the drop?

It DOES feel especially terrible to get knocked out of Europe... and we've been through it twice this time, so much vanished hope! Now we scramble for 4th...

What is it with Man. City anyway? You'll have to GIVE the Premiership away now, Cal... the Skyblues just aren't a happy team are they? Is it the face of their perennially hangdog manager? He never got Europe, & looks mournful even when he smiles, as if there's some deep unforgettable tragedy in his soul...
The last 15 minutes against Burnley looked so effortful, so laborious... I'll still watch them v Barca but it doesn't look good...

Leicester City 0 Hull City 0. Couldn't find a winner despite playing against 10 men for the last 20 minutes,7 points adrift.
Brighton 1 Wolves 1.Looked set for victory when taking the lead on 70 minutes but conceded 4 minutes later,7 points clear of danger
Sheffield Wednesday 1 Fulham 1.Took the lead early in the 2nd half but couldn't old on,11th play offs probably out of reach.
Chesterfield 2 Coventry City 3. Super away win,conceded the 2nd on 85 minutes but held on,2 points clear of the relegation zone
Exeter City 3 Wimbledon 2. Red card on 25 minutes,leading at the break,conceded 3 in 16 2nd half minutes,12th,work to do to get a play off place.
Morecambe 0 Hartlepool United 1. An own goal secured a rare away win,6 points from safety.
Kilmarnock 1 St Mirren 0. Conceded a very late goal,remain at the foot of the table,1 point adrift
East Stirlingshire 2 East Fife 0. A goal in each half,now just 1 defeat in the last 6,up to 6th.
Altrincham 1 Wrexham 4. Great away win,3 up at half time,finding some form now,14th
Halifax 2 Bristol Rovers 2. From 2-0 down at the break,fought back with 2 goals in the last 7 minutes,down to 2nd on goal difference
Gosport Borough 0 Chelmsford 1.Early goal secured the win v the play off contenders,10th,8 points off the top 5.
Lowestoft Town 2 Stockport County 2. A game of 3 penalties,2 for the hosts,we went 2-1 up on 88 minutes then managed to concede the equaliser on 90 from the spot after having a man sent off,play offs still within reach
