Thanks for all the thoughts, folks, but my disappointment at being the butt of the 'How do you know you're reading the paper upside down?' joke is tempered by the Jags being pulled back into the swamp down at the foot. We'll be fine.

        FA Cup quarter final.

Liverpool 0 Blackburn Rovers 0. Deserved replay for the visitors despite plenty of late pressure from our team

I guess there are more than a few of us on your sporting pink list who would like to have seen an upset at Anfield!

              A very "hmm..." afternoon...

Perspiration minus inspiration = frustration. We scarcely got going till the hour. Henderson left his shooters in the boot room, Markovic reverted to running up blind alleys (he's got "getting nowhere fast" down to a fine art), Lallana kept running into the blue and white brick wall... to cap it all, Coutinho - Coutinho, for God's sake - had forgotten to calibrate his rangefinder.
(Oh and Balotelli - who's been a good, if not a super-, sub in recent weeks - gave us his favourite cameo of "30 yards out, 40 yards over the bar").

Blackburn? They did a rear-wheel-drive** Chelsea on us really, but - at the extreme risk of inviting hubris - I think we made them look better than they are. So it's the deja vu of another replay in old industrial N.Lancs, and - recalling what happened last time, I could do with just a little less excitement than the late show we put on at Bolton!
It remains a worry though, that we can't poke them in from 6 yards very much - when Toure stuck one in, you just knew it would be disallowed...

(**credit to Barney Ronay for this priceless descriptive inspiration).

well "Perspiration minus inspiration = frustration" describes les bleus .... not through on away goals against a 10 man team is not very special at all ...not scoring goals is a problem

As a supporter of a club which has terminal goal drought I can't believe that Chelsea has the same disease!

Commiserations Cal, sorry... but what stunning football drama it was...! Silva giving away the pen, then scoring the decider! And a certain poetic justice after Ibra's unjust dismissal - some of us switch on to watch him above all...but Paris S-G kept shape, discipline & played a great match.
Champions League in the Spring is always the best of it and really gets you going, even when your own team are out.

But then, Schalke nearly knocked out Real, for heaven's sake... Maybe Man City's fate next week isn't quite as pre-determined as it looks...another unmissable!

                        ***
If I was a United fan I'd be angriest at Januzaj - past Monreal, through on goal, and he decides to go to ground when he could have had a go... (we saw rather too much of that (oh, real amateur-dramatics stuff) in Chelsea-PSG too - no wonder Souness was so fed up with it).
... as for Di Maria, you see so much shirt-pulling go unpunished it's quite an achievement to get sent off for pulling the referee's....
(feel a bit sorry for poor Angel though - so creative, but wasted & frustrated in his current role, if he even has one...could be worse though - at least he isn't Radamel Falcao...)

                                I imagine so.

Just seen the Ibrahimovic sending off, and he was unlucky.

Still the number one most annoying player in world football though.
