Fine or not, proper football with proper round ball it most certainly isn't ...

The Chelsea v Man Utd match was another classic though, these days, penalties seem to be awarded for just about every tackle in the penalty area when the attacker falls other, whilst jersey-pulling and blatant pushing and shoving/obstruction now appear to be within the rules.

This sort of stuff used to be confined to the Continent and had no part of the British game ... it's introduction here is almost enough to turn some of us quite Eurosceptic ...

Sadness in Muddville aka Beantown (Boston). Chez m., Six Nations and the Man U-Chelsea matches were of a higher priority than the stupor bowl (so called by my dad). Son in San Francisco, a transplanted New Englander, was not best pleased by the Pats (NE Patriots) performance. Brother-in-law in NY is quite happy that the G-Men (NY Giants) won. Eli Manning is his hero. This is yet another example of the longstanding New England-New York rivalry.
