But remember, Edge, Basel did the double over Chelsea last season and Man Utd have hardly fared any better there in recent years. YET Basel still failed to qualify for the knockout rounds. Go figure...

    Liverpool weren't knockout.

Henderson missed his engine-room partner Lallana (who should, currently, NEVER be "rested"...) Gerrard returned to squints and grimaces (his later comments suggest he doesn't think much of at least some of his own team), Sterling's first touch has deserted him and his second's no better, and Markovic doesn't seem to like the ball enough to hold onto it for long... even Coutinho stopped bothering... I really am beginning to think that with Balotelli, it's... worst fears confirmed (Mourinho said he "gave up on him" in Italy...I REALLY wish I hadn't read that.)... Rodgers' comment that Balotelli had "worked hard" didn't carry much conviction...

It isn't as if Basel are brilliant. What is it with English teams in Basel?

How long ago it seems, Spurs 0 Liverpool 3. The system worked without Suarez, Balotelli seemed to offer a further attacking option... come back soon, Daniel, and make up ANY excuse not to play for England.
Oh good. Brendan's done a deal with Roy...

High expectations after last season? I guess it's just their Champions League relearning curve combined with an indifferent start to the season.

Very tight at the top of the Conference, Halifax & Barnet setting the pace, but the Robins have found some form at last. Nothing to be complacent about but manager Wilkins must be pleased.

Gate of 3,159 which is pretty amazing

            Oh no there isn't

BBM ("Bruce-Baker-Moore") is the name of the short-lived power trio formed in 1993, by long established artists, bassist Jack Bruce, drummer Ginger Baker and...

20 years ago. Who"d have thought we'd be getting excited at the prospect of Stockport County being in with a chance of being promoted to the Conference?

Thanks again for summary edge, Owls and Truro hanging in there. Seems that in the Championship draws are becoming increasingly the norm.
Only just realised that Hereford are down in the Southern Prem - a travesty! Non-league sides seem to have much more harsh treatment than their league superiors!

Owls certainly holding their own Cloughieeeeeeee.

Nice win for Hull, I am going in big on Palace going down - at the bookies I mean.

Very annoying late equaliser from Dyche's lads. Good result Chelmsford.

thanks for the results services ER.

I don't know how savage ,shearer and lineker can manage to be annoying even with the sound down, but somehow they do.

                          Amazing.

On Cloughie's point, non league teams do get really tough treatment. Salisbury aren't playing at all this season !!!!!!!!!

Liverpool 2 West Brom 1... Lallana & Henderson scored, Balotelli dropped etc... Phew.

Real Madrid home and away? Bring it on ...

Yes indeed Rob...thank you very much. Great result yesterday...St Johnstone are suffering the lack of Stevie May and the Buddies made the most of it. International break coming at the wrong time for us.

It's getting like 'Question Time' these days, sainty - I look at who's on and decide whether I can watch. Nothing to do with the games. Savage is a total turn-off, TV or Radio...the other one I cannot stand is Mark Chapman on the Sunday night MOTD. I've largely stopped watching that one but I'll be OK for watching Sportscene tonight.

                                Rounding up the round up.

Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0 . Clinical Blues remain top of the pile.
Spurs 1 Southampton 0. I haven't seen the 'what a miss' miss that would have snatched a point.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 Ross County 1. Points dropped v the team at the bottom of the league.

The SPL table looks a bit odd btw,Hamilton top, what's happened to Celtic ?
