Thanks ER.
Great round up.
I was at SMS for an exciting if slightly scrappy affair. Saints were well worth their win on chances created, but QPR wrre in good nick, and look to have a fair chance of staying up on this form.
Check out the goals on MOTD.
I see Wrexham gave our "other " team Eastleigh a bit of a lesson !!
Incidentally, I though folk might be interested in this article.
The most one sided Derby fixture in British football?

good day at the office for the special one and les bleus; stunning goals at Saints/QPR and a wonder shot from Jagielka ...
cheers EdgeleyRob for a fine round up to which i would add the comment that Rooney got a red card in a game in which the Hammers were a little unfortunate to get nil pointsAccording to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

I've gone quiet. Very quiet. Why. You know why.
Already worried about Balotelli. Falling over. Looking peeved a lot. Being kicked a lot too. (BUT Howard DID save THAT one!)
Every game seems the same, Henderson and Lallana keeping it all going, Sterling off-colour but looking too good for this place, the rejigging of Markovic, Coutinho, Suso, Lambert...
But - Gerrard cheered up (a Liverpool Artisan's response to just criticism, perhaps...), the team played better... and then sat back on a 1-0 without a defence good enough to do that.
If Sturridge returns in Basle we yet find the class which lit up White Hart Lane...
I do love to watch Chelsea. So compact, and so many of their players have a wonderful technique on the ball. What about Fabregas' backspinning pass out left to set up Costa's goal? Like a sand wedge out of the bunker, stopping dead on the green.

Henderson gets better and better and Gerrard slowly declines. Sterling had a less influential game that those of late. I'm worried about Balotelli's a fine player but his temper is a smoking gun. With regard to Lallana I never trust a footballer with boy-band haircut. Just like Sir Alex was poor judge of goal-keepers, in Pepi Reina, Rodger's let go a better keeper than in Mignolet the one he bought.Last edited by Stanfordian; 28-09-14, 21:09.

Came back after going two down to get a late draw and a total rant from former Aberdeen captain Willie Miller about how the hell the Saints managed to get anything out of the game - I mean he's right, our defence is pretty pants (actually it's ugly pants) but hey we managed a psychologically valuable point. Better than nowt, I say!
