Notice Stevie May got the goal yesterday, cloughie...how's he fitting in? St Johnstone are fair missing his goals...think wee Gordy could be coming calling shortly.

Seems to have slotted in very well - he scored against B'ham midweek also.

It's an incredibly interesting Premiership season so far. Very unpredictable, apart from Chelsea (and they weren't particularly good today).

I recall saying how worried I was after the first premiership game, Cal said, great squad and manager, it'll be OK... seems like you were too nice, Cal, and I was too right...

Lovren's touch has deserted him the last two games and our defence now looks a nervous wreck (Oh, what a surprise.!..). No Liverpool supporter is ever reassured by the (re)appearance of Skrtel.
Where's the leadership? Gerrard looks more than a little world-weary these days... The burden of Premiership & World Cup mistakes and disappointments?

Balotelli's done OK so far, and his combination with Sterling for our goal was supremely skilful, but we haven't yet worked out how to play without Suarez, except "the same only less so"...
Sturridge will return and there'll be better performances, but it now seems that 2013-14 (all those 4s and 5s!) was a brilliant one-off, a display of attacking flair that only those three Ss could produce, within the system Rogers had devised and worked on with them... what a chance we missed, and I fear Gerrard feels it, sadly and badly.

Grim consolations: even if he was here, Suarez wouldn't be playing yet; Man U have their problems too...(but you feel that with THAT much gifted firepower, they won't take long...); for City, neither Aguero nor Toure look like the player they were last season.

Liverpool v Middlesborough tomorrow looks an anxious evening, but probably great entertainment for the neutrals....

Enjoyed City v Chelsea (wonderful team goal!), but PellegrinO's criticisms were misplaced. Chelsea are no Stoke and certainly no joke to play against - just led by a supreme tactician and man-manager... (and the best-looking man in world football...)

This contribution to Palace's Holmesdale messageboard appealed to me for some reason. I'm quoting verbatim without the permission of the contributor:

We are palace we must sing from start to finish regardless

                            14-13 on penalties?!?!

Two things to say: i) "great entertainment for the neutrals" - me and my big mouth...
(ii) Alls well that ends well...
