With Vasily Petrenko a very happy concert goer. If only he could play as a centre forward.
Indeed, LM, Petrenko seems to have notches them up a few gearsa since he tookm over! Jolly good to!

Reverting to proper football, James MacMillan is apparently a huge Celtic fan ... in fact, I'm sure there was a photo of him in a Proms brochure some years ago, proudly sporting the club scarf, and posing in his irritatingly ever-photogenic manner outside the entrance to Celtic Park.

Has Oor Jummy never watched Partick Thistle ... ?

That is what I call proper football! Not like the commercial version we get today.

                      2-0 to Fulham . There's more here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JNj-Gg77rQ

There are some fascinating YouTube clips (Fulham played Austria at the Cottage in 1933! 1-1 draw). I was at many of the games of the 1970s / 80s that are on YouTube - feels like a different world.

What a lovely little ground, John ...

During my misspent youth travelling around Scotland on a Saturday afternoon to watch football, I always thought Stirling Albion's old ground was the prettiest (wasn't it called Annfield?) but, sadly, I never got around to visiting Glebe Park.

It certainly appears to have the edge on Firhill.

                              is proper football.

They don't make goalkeepers like Eric Martin anymore.
