Stockport - Alfreton a thrill a minute, Rob?

Bath City threw it away again at the death

Sadly (or thankfully)I didn't get to the game but i'm told it wasn't pretty.

Shame for Bath too but at least my 2 other adopted messageboard teams are doing well (Wrexham and Southampton)

Please, Anna, remember where you are ... To try and answer your question, if a possible millionaire like Anton Ferdinand has nothing better to do than complain about another millionaire calling him nasty names, well, I give up.For possibly the first time in my life I have some sympathy for an England football captain. In common with many modern sportsmen Terry may have a foul mouth but I simply don't believe for one minute that he is a racist. We all say things we later regret.I cannot believe this trivial nonsense is now a court case.

"To say that these men paid their shillings to watch twenty-two hirelings kick a ball is merely to say that a violin is wood and catgut, that Hamlet is so much paper and ink. For a shilling the Bruddersford United AFC offered you Conflict and Art."

Don't know about Conflict and Art but 8 goals and 28000 crowd Wednesday v Huddersfield last Saturday was a good advert for Div 1 football. At 2-0 down as an Owls supporter I would have settled for a point but at the end felt disappointed we could not hold on to 4-3 to the end of 7 mins injury time. Funny old game.....

i know it ended well for us, but our 2 year spell in L1 was thoroughly enjoyable. some new places, some tough games, and a surprising desire, if not always ability, by many teams, to play the beautiful game.

As you suggest, where else in the world can you regularly find crowds of 20k plus for third tier football ?

Looks a tough old division to get out of this year, with the added tension of the 2 Sheffield teams slugging it out. Should be a cracking season. I am certainly still following it all closely.

Once, my team's campaign seemed to be doing rather well!! Unbeaten in 15 matches!! Went to 3rd! Then we had a trio of games with Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea, of which, it wasnt too band, papart from the 3-0 defeat by Chelsea! then we seemed to have gained a few inuries and since then our game hasn't been going very well. Now we are 7th!! From 3rd! And in Premiership terms thats quite alot! I do hope our soituation will pick up soon and be back up in 3rd!!

have seen both those teams recently. Both are very useful outfits, and at worst will be close to the playoffs. Can't see either getting into top two with the points they have to make up.

Its a long old season as you say. I think the top 4 are closely matched. think WHU will make it, as they have probably the strongest cover, along with whoever copes best with injuries and the rigours of the season.
down here, we are enjoying the ride, and also the entertaining footy.

We seem to do OK against the teams around us at the top - hope we can stay top 2 as there is a hightmare scenario there of losing to Stevenage in the playoff final!

as huddersfield found out last season, its all from scratch in those playoffs.

Losing to Stevenage might be a nightmare.........what if it was the blades.........although imagine if you beat them in the final to go up !!

And out of the doomed bottom 4 !!what a great weekends work for county. The darkest hour is just before dawn..... !!

that winner for sunderland was quite amusing, although its hard to know who you want to win the league out of the unholy trinity.
