I'll be happy provided West Brom manage another "great escape" and stay in the Premiership. My father first took me to see them in 1968, the year we won the FA Cup.

One of the bookcases in my study is made from wood from the old stands at the Hawthorns.

And I thought it was 1-1 after extra time.

The game was that poor and boring it's not surprising some who saw the match can't quite recall the score at the end before the penalties, though the free-kick from Baines was an absolute beauty ...

I expect we all know the daft things football managers say. Today the Palace manager Paul Hart said something along these lines,

Well of course if we played Arsenal 20 times they would win 19 of those games, so today I'm just hoping for a one in a million performance.....

I'm watching the Manchester City v. Notts County FA Cup 4th round replay. It's most embarrassing for a Man City supporter.

To be fair (as they say) that should be a feeling that city fans are used to !!

oh er ooops etc .... well it was dire and i remembered the score from the telly but not at the end ...excuses excuses eh Chelsea don't have any tho ... and misery ... Fulham are out as well ...

I think Notts County looked pretty good except defending corners and clearly the class of the City stars told, but really only after Trevez came on ....that Bolateli chappy is not up to much but the sulks eh ...

an interesting comparison between the red and blue halves of Manchester ... one has the feeling that the blue half is a much stronger squad after the Crawley game yesterday ...

I think the quote should have been credited to Paul Hart! He was a disaster at P*******th and this is the reason why we love him at Southampton! He seems to be a disaster wherever he goes but I don't think that Steve Cotterill, although a far better manager, it much better when it comes to talking common sense.

I used to work on a project where the groundworker's Quantity Surveyor eventually progressed to be a quite notorious Premier League referee. He was extremely sharp and certainly someone who is savvy enough to make sure you are kept on your toes albeit I found him to be quite personable. I was staggered the first time that I heard someone ring up and complain on 606 about a decision he had given in a football match.

BTW: The 606 message boards are also to be scrapped at the end of the season. (Another one of my haunts!)

Mine too ... is the BBC really so poor it can't afford such entertaining 'customer' forums?

I suppose mentioning the phrase "2-horse race" would get me reported to the cliche thread.

Sorry about the quote, I saw the manager speak and thought it was Hart, but later I realised Orient's manager is Russell Slade
