On Bundesliga highlights the other evening I saw something in the Herta - Nurnburg game that I'm not sure I've seen on a footie park before. Nurnburg are 2-1 up, Herta attacking and the Nurnburg goalie makes a block which sends the ball out beyond the box. The Herta player lobs the ball towards the goal - defender gets back and gets a hand to the ball before heading it outwards. The Herta forward rushes in and scores, but the referee has already blown for a penalty and shows a red card to the defender. Then on comes the linesman saying he has flagged for an offside (dodgy I thought - not interfering). The referee then rescinds the red card and the penalty and gives a free kick - Nurnburg knock the ball up the park, forward goes into the box, tripped by defender and gets a penalty, they score and against the odds win 3-1. I'm still trying to sort out the order, and what if the ref hadn't blown and the forward scored would the defender still be sent off. Anyway, if you were the ref - it's about 4 and a half minutes in if you don't want to watch all the goals.
