Great stuff, ER. I loved the Manchester results. And what about Southampton - is teamsaint being treated for altitude sickness?

I liked a comment about some timewasting in one of the games on radio this afternoon: "You could have read War and Peace in the time it took him to take that free kick."

Btw, I happened to go to Crystal Palace v Swansea last weekend as we were visiting relatives in Croydon. Best thing about CP was the eagle that was flying from one end of the pitch to the other before the game and in the interval. It'll be a long season for Palace, but perhaps not very long there for Holloway...

On recent evidence (eg Swansea), I feared the worst for the Eagles at Saints and good luck to them and the jubilant teamsaint. As things stand and in the light our yoyo credentials, a parachute payment is all we can look forward to ......... however .....it is early season. Holloway has woven magic before and we all remember the concept of bouncebackability as coined by our former manager, Iain Dowie.

Thanks for the excellent round up from the Wembley bound ER !!
Well things are going well for our boys. I don't get to go to a game for the next 5 weeks.

Anyway, Kipling tells us all we need to know about footballing triumphs and disasters. Xmas 2004 we were in a Champions League spot, and the league table adorned my kitchen wall. 18 months later it was relegation for the first time in 27 years and years of dross ahead of us.

Sorry about today Gurney, but Holloway will keep you fighting all the way, and that is about all newly promoted teams can hope for.

And Aeolium is quite correct, the pre match and Half time entertainment at Selhurst is surely the best in the country. The Eagle (real), the crystal Girls, the big Eagle mascots, and all dancing together ....sheer magic.

Right, where are those altitude sick as a parrot pills......

Robbie savage seems to rate him highly, having played for him

Our Cloughie has been v quiet.....

Thanks Rob. Sounded from the radio as though the Buds were putting a lot more in last night but got more nervous as the prospect of the first win of the season approached and lost a late-ish goal as a consequenky - still a point is a point.

Aberdeen seem to have started pretty well, so might not be the worst point of the season.

Current Everton joke: ‘It’s taken David Moyes 11 years to get Everton above Manchester United in the table!’

I am the owner of a football signed by the Motherwell team that had Paul Lambert as a member.

                                Hurrah.
Office cricket is fun. And less corrupt than the professional game.
