I hope Moyes is looking for a mid -fielder with a bit more bite than Cleverley, Anderson....he'll more clearly define Carricks role and I'm looking forward to Fletcher coming back....Fabregas isn't going to happen (is it ??)....but yes you are prob right Teamsaint, playing a Lampard type role too....If Cleverly learned how to finish and hunt down opposition wing backs it would be a boon....and Jones isn't forfilling his promise....Hope Zaha comes up trumps....I think there's going to be probs at the back without a midfield that's more destructive ....
....get rid of Nani please....Evra past sell by date??....
If I was Moyes, I would have a long look at Nat Clyne, the Saints RB.
he is a VERY good player, very young,English.
But I would ALWAYS buy the very best Centre backs available. Bruce/Pallister...... (Ok Bruce never played for England IIRC, but even so.....)
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
Just seen this from last week, Yeovil Town have confirmed the signing of Swansea City defender Alan Tate … by posting a message on an easel outside Huish Park in their own version of the Royal baby announcement.
I've decided to lose Gurnemanz and annoy people (Brighton fans) by reverting to the Palace avatar in readiness for the new season. Given the Eagles' recent pre-season 3-0 loss to Crawley Town, calamity may be just round the corner.
THOMAS McIntyre, 43, had to enter football grounds by the disabled gate after his predicament at Firhill - but after dropping from 31 stone to 13 stone he has been named Slimming World Man of the Year 2013.
...and very sorry to hear about the passing of Rob's dog Harry.
My club seems to be on a path to total destruction. The impending liquidation seems like the final straw; they can't play home games in Coventry; most the fans have marched through the city, declaring unwillingness to go to home games that are not at home; a large points deduction (before the season starts) could lead to relegation to Div 2 (old div 4, the bottom league in League Football); can't sign any decent players.....
Crystal Palace went on to justify being "Team of the Eighties" by winning the Zenith Data Systems Cup (now The Johnstone's Paint Trophy). This was actually great! - and the only Cup we have ever won. It was followed, alas, by losing our only two European matches in the Intertoto Cup and going into administration ..... twice. Still there, however, and back in the top league. Yippeee!
I see Lawro's getting the bullet from MOTD - don't know why he was marked out in particular - they could have dumped a couple more while they were at it.
Mark Lawrenson was said to be furious at his axing as a Match of the Day regular after the BBC began breaking up the team who have dominated its flagship football programme.
...there's a few they could have got rid of from Sportscene up here - Billy Dodds, Doddsy as he is mischievously AKA, would be my choice. He's one of those guys who has me thinking:'What dirt do you have on the producer?'
