Looking forward to the arrival of the Jags in the SPL...and I suppose given the issues in Scottish footie, two 4-3 semis no bad thing after the excellent League Cup Final ( thought I should get one last mention in there.
Two entertaining Scottish Cup Semis, John ... and, yes, the mighty Jags are on the verge of regaining their rightful place at the giddy heights of the SPL top table!

The Chelsea-Man City English semi was different class ... that's what REAL professional football should be all about. Skilful, end-to-end exciting stuff. A credit to both teams.

I thought you were on holiday - post code or side of the A1 or miles north of Wigmore Street has nothing to do with it .....it's in the blood as Rumpole would say......

Not a great result for stockport, sadly. They need things to go very well indeed on the last day.
Some interestin results elsewhere. Two welsh clubs in the PL next season. Cardiff deserve a crack at it, been hammering on the door for years now.

and I see some of the relegation places in L1 are settled.

                (shame about Anton's lot, obviously).

Arsenal ballsed up a bit tonight. Great opportunity to pull away from Spurs and get a foot in the door of Champions League Football next season. Everton away are not the same challenge as Everton at Goodison Park (or whatever their home ground is called these days).

Home or away, Moyes has built a fine unit and a defence that most teams in the PL would like... and that the Arsenal of the past built their reputation on...at a fraction of the cost that others have spent too.

All true, but as a United supporter, I've already opened the Champagne and looking forward to next season as defending champions

Bizarrely, Palace keep losing, but still stay in the same league position.

Yes ts looking very grim,I got my calculator and log tables out,we can stay up with a win in our last game, and other results go our way.
Not quite over yet (find me a barrell and I will scrape it).
If you are looking in Eine Alpensinfonie,a new low for SCFC beckons I'm afraid.

That's the kind of fortune Hartlepool and Stockport needed, gurnemanz.

It's looking really desperate, ER. Playing a team away that has to win to have a chance of automatic promotion. But at least Stockport know they have to go all out for the win. It's an incredible fall from grace - weren't they in League One not so long ago?

You may be needing some of that consolatory music come Saturday evening - some Howells, perhaps.

Yes aeolium, some Howells medication may indeed be required.
Season 1997/98 finished in 8th position in what is now the championship (div 1 in those days).
We were even in a higher division than man city for a season (happy days).
Years of poor management (on and off the pitch) means that's a distant memory.
Still,a local derbies v Altrincham and Stalybridge will be quite spicy.
