Sad news indeed, Rob and I speak as a Wrexham supporter. Wrexham plunged out of the league after hitting financial difficulties and being docked umpteen points as a result three seasons ago - where's the sense in that?

Anyway they're now in the playoffs for a return to the league

i hope that Stockport manage the same trick sooner rather than later

Rob - My second team is York City so I have known that feeling. Having said as much, at least the game at the lower levels is still recognisable as true competition. I take it that that the "Edgeley" is the football connection?

and a word for poor old Barnet .... used to live a stone's throw from the ground in the early 70s ... they are now very close to relegation from the league

Saints promoted to Championship (barring us losing on Saturday and Huddersield making up a 17-goal difference)

              Get in there!!!!

Bring on the Skates next season!!

Come on Chelsea! I never thought i'd say that, but where I live now is full of middle class ManU "distance" fans, at least some of the Chelsea and Arsenal fans around here have attended the odd home game.

My team's going up, QPR, barring a terrible decision regarding points deduction.

                    Well done Saints!

My support for Saints and dislike of Pompey is cricket related, not Rednapp related as people assume ( I quite like him). I was standing behind Matt leTissier (brilliant footballer, brilliant cricketer!) at an open air bar at Lords when Hants were in the Final and we had beer thrown over us, along with foul invective, by Pompey fans, who were also supporting Hampshire.

Normally it's ok at the Rose Bowl as the regulars are mostly Soton fans (the other lot keep quiet) but for a big game you get a large number of the less civilised kind** of Pompey supporters who hang around in groups.

                    **They are not ALL bad

Im a distance fan too .Calum

I used to go to QPR and Barnet often, but most of these M U fans have no connection with Manchester and have only been to Pro football to see Mu at Southamopton (back in the day) if at all.

There's Bournemouth around here and Dorchester and Weymouth are a fair standard but they wouldnt go to those.

which will mean that this borough (Hammersmith and Fulham) will be home to three Premium League clubs.

(to say nothing of the parking. .)

I do sympathise. I used to walk to games and often got public trasport back as walking back could entail crossing Wormwood Scrubs in the dark .

not such a problem in the middle kingdom vinteuil but somehow we still manage to have the parking problems .....

Northampton might be OK but Lincoln could be the alternative relegation to Barnet ... and Sven is going to have to take another season at the Foxes ....

Yes Edgeley park was our home until Sale Sharks rugby moved in,now we are only tenants. It's a long story.
York City away was always a good day out I seem to remember.
