Spain were really disappointing - sluggish movement, no real interest in pressing forward once they had their 1-0 advantage (like the old Italians). And that very dull, pointless, triangular passing around the halfway line that so excites commentators but is just so much time-wasting. Here's hoping for a Portugal win on Wednesday - at least Portugal will give Germany a run for their money and might even beat them this time round.

Dire wasn't it. I shall be listening to the Venezuelan youngsters at the RFH tomorrow evening, then returning to watch t'match in full on the PVR. Better avoid this thread when i get home tomorrow
I shall also be missing it. Months ago my wife booked us in for a Pina Bausch dance event at Sadler's Wells, not of course able to foresee any potential round ball clash. I am not a great devotee of dance and I won't claim that I wouldn't actually prefer the footie + beer + sofa option, but it is a sell-out and promises to be a good night and the match may well be disastrous either in quality or outcome - or indeed both.

I can't decide whether Spain are just not quite as good as they were, or are becoming complacent through success, or are so sure of their superiority that they are taking it easy ahead of tougher games. Their last two matches have certainly been boring affairs, and last night's commentator talked about them "anaesthetising" the opposition with their tiki-taka passing, which seems spot on. A Germany-Portugal final might be a better spectacle, though their group match wasn't a scintillating game either.

Despite the lack of goalless draws, Euro 2012 hasn't been a great watch overall - and all the better teams seem much of a muchness.

Yes, doodling away, re-designing parts of Norway as usual.

Best team won. Better to see England go out than be slaughtered by Germany isn't it? They were rubbish in second half.

With every major Soccer tournament that passes, I realize how privileged I was to be alive when England last came away with a trophy.
