I can just about understand why the Radio Times cannot print an accurate, complete listing of Radio 3 programming (well,I can't but I'm prepared to accept that only a certain percentage of my potential listening will be fully indicated there). What I cannot understand, and what is frustrating me beyond frustration, is why the iPlayer cannot present accurate, complete listings when these go live after the event - for example, I was interested in listening to Alasdair Nicholson's 'Shadows on the Wall' broadcast as part of Afternoon on 3 on Tuesday and went to the iPlayer this evening to find that at the time it was due to be broadcast there was instead a series of interviews with members of the Orkney Festival Chorus, followed by a complete performance of Symphony of Psalms. All well and good, but why can this not be listed under 'more programme information'? Surely the point of having such information is that it means one has a chance of listening to pieces that one wants to hear? Serendipitous experiences may be acceptable during Dog's Breakfast or Out Of Tune, but not in the main listening blocks. Why do we never get to know what comes between Radio 3 Live in Concert and Night Waves, while we're on the subject??? What interesting new music have I missed over the last few years?
...driving me nuts...
