Interesting. That entirely contradicts the advice I was given when I had microsuction done. I was told earwax should be firm and not softened for that procedure, something which was always insisted upon when having the ears syringed. I must say I do prefer syringe to having a metal dredger digging for dirt near/on my ear drums. Water seems so much less dangerous, but that's just me being a wimp.

Don't like the idea of either, although I've only had water. For some reason it always brings to mind a revolting Rab C Nesbitt sketch in which violent nose blowing ended up with brain, not snot, being ejected.

What happens here? I’ve never heard of this?

In the end I've just given up: if the problem becomes intolerable or exacerbated by earache I shall just go to the doc.
          'Earol' works for me.

I've found that to be the most effective myself, perhaps because it's a spray. Unfortunately neither the local pharmacy or any supermarket seem to stock it any more...

It could sound quite offenseive, asking for it in London: "'Ave yer got any Earol?"

Good news: managed to get booked in for the ear clearing microsuction before I see (and by then, absolutely hear) The Mask of Orpheus.

Whose idea was it to arrange the rugby world cup in the Japan typhoon season?

Is it not available at Boots in Kingfisher Walk?

Great! I'm going to brush up by listening to the NMC discs, which haven't been spun for some years. I certainly hope there'll be a Radio 3 broadcast. BBC Four showed The Minotaur when it was done (and recently George Benjamin's newest opera), so fingers crossed for Orpheus.

Different people, but the same type of thinking - too as with the FIFA World Cup in Quatar in 2022.

With the Rugby World Cup in Japan I'd have thought that Bill Beaumont would have had more sense.
