St Hilary's Day today (in the CofE calendar; tomorrow in the RC) - the saint (who was a bloke, I only fund out a few days ago) who gives his name to the "Hilary Term" of certain Universities and Law Courts. (In all the schools I taught at - and, indeed, those I was taught in - the Terms were identified by the holidays towards which they were headed ["Christmas", "Easter", "Summer"] rather than from the date at which they started.)

And today has the reputation of being the coldest day of the year - ironic in this bit of the Pennines, as it's forecast to be one of the mildest of the year so far (reaching double figures - just! - by Noon).

... and if you are ever in Poitiers, a visit to his church is highly recommended -

Yes, Occupational Therapy lady. She was very good actually. I’m having a few aids to help me in my day. I should be using a walking aid at home but me being me I don’t! A what they call a perch stool for the bathroom. A lever for my bed, for ease of getting in and out and a swivel seat for the actual bath itself. This is what the cancer has done to me since my diagnosis in August 2016.

And yet somehow you manage to keep yourself cheerful, as well as us, BBM!
