could one be so sure about one of ms Riley's works?

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

No, one couldn't. But then, there's nothing 'natural' involved. Except inspiration, that is.

At the very least it means something that happens without the deliberate intervention of humans. Don't you agree?

Probably stay in and watch tennis. Petworth is a great place to visit. Good if you're an NT member, otherwise might be pricey.

Are humans not part of nature too?

Yes they are. But they are very unusual in that they can use their speciality (big brains) to manipulate nature in a way that other species can't. Hence, for instance, the ubiquitous man-made 'natural' products such as cabbages, cows, corn and a thousand other things. In particular, they can create abstract things out of their imagination - nothing else can do that to anything like the same extent. I think that's a good reason for treating them as special - at least when we're talking about natural -vs- unnatural.

To define everything as being 'natural' simply because it is the product of brains may certainly be useful sometimes, but not (surely) when we are contrasting the zebra's stripes - the result of thousands of decades of natural selection - with a piece of art constructed by a human.

At least, that's what I think - naturally.

If that's so, then most of the things I do must be natural, since I never intend my mistakes.
