... well, the main thing now is to get Murray out, so we can be done with all the Brit/Scot gushing

Ever since Federer and Nadal left I rather lost interest. Mme V ( an ardent fan of M Federer ) had a bit of a crush on Dustin Brown (he of the dreadlocks) - but he's gorn too,,,

    So, Robson out.

    Come on Tim!!!

[ Actually we wd rather like Djokovic, if we can't have Federer, Nadal, or Brown... ]

No - I'm watching! Sort of. I was sorry to see Laura go, but she's done well. Rather glad to see Serena out, so we can see which of the other women come through. I don't have any interest in Murray, but he did win the first set, and I think he could easily win the title - and then think what a fuss there'd be!

I have a bit of a crush on Nadal I think. Anyway, I'm sorry he lost on the first or second day.

Yes - not wearing her lucky drawers today! Either Lisicki or Kvitova would be an excellent winner IMV. Flashes of the old Murray vulnerabilities, Lendl not looking happy, as far as one can tell.

The only Grand Slam player to feature in a John le Carré novel, ASFAIK. Mme Federer appears to chew gum continuously, perhaps she gets nervous.

He has the air of a ruthless killing machine about him on court. Murray wd have to catch him on an off day.

Wimbledon's no fun if you haven't got a bit of a crush on someone, and I don't think I have now, so I'm concentrating on disliking people instead

I was going to say that the decline in commentating standards is in part due to the absence of voices like Peter Fleming and John Alexander. Glad to see now that the veteran American has returned to the booth for the (A)Tomic match to add a touch of class to proceedings.

wikipedia informs me that of his 18 matches against Djokovic, Murray has won 7

I can take most of them OK except Andrew Castle, who spoils matches for me.

I think progression through the rounds in an efficient and energy saving manner means that the top players bring their B game to these matches in the early rounds, and only use A game in small patches to get them through; when in trouble. Their A game is of such intensity that it is energy sapping to the max, and difficult to recover from, so they must save it for later rounds. Their A game is right on the edge of being close to straining and injury. Murray stupidly put himself in the way of injury yesterday running off court for a ball he didn't really need to get back....Seeing the way Haas troubled Djokovic when he really upted his game makes me feel that Murray could easily do the same (but for longer periods) IF he has conserved his energy....his timing, his new better attitude to attack, his returning, and court craft are essentially good....BUT oooooooooooooo that second serve <yikes>

Perceptive, eighth, most perceptive ... and much better than Andrew Castle, imho
