I find it's much easier watching Ms Bartoli being interviewed than playing. Her serve is really weird, but there's no doubt it worked. She comes across as much more fun that you'd imagine from watching her tennis. A deserved win, though might not have turned out that way if Ms Lisicki had been shocked into action slightly earlier. To make that come back after being all but down and out was quite spectacular. I hope we see her next year, or indeed in other tournaments.
So I assume you were thrilled by the superb performance by the British and Irish Lions in Australia today, Mr Pee - just slipped your mind?
All I saw on my TV were a bunch of bull-necked, thuggish-looking characters fighting each other and then throwing a funny-shaped ball around, accompanied by thousands of drunken louts (of both sexes) cheering them on. Even demented orangutans would be rightly appalled at the very idea.
Civilised folk around the world are quite naturally drawn to 'the beautiful game', instead.
Sadly, if somewhat predictably, this does not appear to apply to the Welsh (of both sexes).

My sentiments exactly, Dave.
Once Ms Bartoli let her hair down (literally), and was interviewed after the match, my initial impression of her changed completely.
Much more, and somewhat reassuringly, one's idea of a proper, feminine-looking French lady!
As for the lovely German-Pole Miss Lisicki, her tennis time will come, I'm sure.

I always understood that the saying goes "football is a gentleman's game played by hooligans, and rugby is a hooligans' game played by gentlemen"
Sadly the Scots have had a difficult time winning at either recently

I was unable to watch unfortunately, however I am indeed delighted at their thrashing of the Aussies. And now I am hoping for a double British win tomorrow- Murray at the tennis, and Hamilton at the German Grand Prix.
And let's not forget that Chris Froome took over the yellow jersey in the Tour De France today- he could well be another British winner, following on from Wiggo last year!
Such echt-sexism might suggest that the 1960s never happened in Auchtermuchty
I don't think scotty's ever been to 'muchty, speaking as a Fifer myself. It's a famous place. The Proclaimers came from Auchtermuchty. Sir Jimmy Shand indeed......
