A very quick reading of the "Executive Summary" (aka the "Janet and John" page) appears to suggest that everyone thinks that DAB is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This of course is exactly what the govt wants to hear so I imagine they'll be very keen for the report to be widely publicised.

On 3 seconds' reading I like this report a lot. It says (well, hints) that I'm vulnerable because I have a radio in my sitting room! Can I now retire early please?
"I told you I was ill!" (pace Spike Milligan)
Are all of us vulnerable on this here MB??I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

It is mostly made up conclusions, from a very small survey, taken in a rather unrepresentative town.
Anybody who think that people encounter very few problems listening to DAB, has either been very lucky, or is in the pay of the BBC.
Basically, the questions seem to have been set to give a low initial expectation, and to give a big "Improvement" factor, based on folks getting free gear, and Bath (no doubt) being particularly good for reception.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I did grab a table marked: Radio switchover - good or bad for the UK. Interestingly, the before and after the trial figures for both the main group and the vulnerable group indicate an increase in the 'Bad thing' score ...I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. The BBC had little to do with it, the report was commissioned and published by DCMS.

The Go Digital trial was an attempt by government to see how a small representative [yes, yes I know] proportion of the population dealt with having to rely on DAB for their radio reception. The top line results are as suggested in #4: The Bathers loved it and had few problems adapting!! However the devil is in the detail and although the results are largely positive there are some issues to be resolved as is shown in the table that FF posted.

Thanks, Gordon. Must admit from the thread title I thought it was about how well your DAB radio functioned in a steamy atmosphere... (all that talk about swimming baths on another thread). It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
