    Birthdays of composers.

On discovering that Carl Nielsen has the good fortune to share a birthday with Sussex based music lover BrassBandMaestro, I idly started investigating.
Pleased to see that my birthday, a bit of desert generally for birthdays of the famous and brilliant, comes up trumps with Poulenc. 3rd sprog does even better with JSB . Ace in the pack there.
    Anybody got a good one?

Professional composers on the board can take it as read of course that they needn't check the listings!

The Classical Net web site offers a comprehensive collection of information and news on classical music subjects including articles and CD reviews, composers and their music, the basic repertoire, recommended recordings and a CD buying guide. The site now features over 9000 files of information including thousands of CD, Book, Concert, DVD and Blu-ray reviews and more than 5500 links to other classical music sites.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

    Hmmm... Arthur Meulemans
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

        7th May.

A couple of giants - Graun and Poot.

Not sure who Brahms and Tchaikovsky are though.

Heinrich Biber and Maurice Greene Could perhaps have been worse but I need evidence of it(*)

[Thought I'd got Sibelius till I twigged it was US date convention]

EDIT (*)Yes it can: my wife gets only Rheinberger
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

That website seems to be in urgent need of an update: Elizabeth Maconchy and George Lloyd (amongst others) are still with us

And presumably there are plenty who think they're already composers, but actually haven't been born yet

                Could it be Montezuma's revenge.

For commercial cases I tend to use Sue, Grabbitt and Runn.

Robert Fuchs, the well known Austrian composer shares my birthday, as does the decimalisation of currency in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

I found no-one on the link provided by teamsaint, but looking at my birthday here I found Ruggles, Mimaroglu, and another dozen I've never heard of.
