On the subject of AMS 51, I though I read a post where a member had made contact with him, after a month or two, and the message was that he was taking a break from the board. I've searched, but not found the post.

This seems to be a good place; marthe sends her best wishes to the forum members. She is fine but, as it happens to us often, life gets in the way and the Forum has to be put aside for the time being.

I noticed that a couple of posts down from that Beef Oven! was asking afterLateralthinking!, amongst others. Would I be right in thinking that Lat-Literal is him returned? There are similarities in post style.

He's had a very bad time healthwise, and emailed me here and sent a brief subsequent message to the jass bored. It's going to take time.

Unfortunately, it took time for me to write this particular post, as on Wednesday just gone at 9.20pm, my father passed away, in his sleep, after a protracted illness. he was 96 years old, God Bless him! RIP

I've been somewhat absent of late, and will be for a few weeks more, as I've joined the several here on the Forum who have lost their dads in the recent past - my "Aged P" died on Wednesday last week in the early hours, similarly peacefully at the end to yours Bbm. At a mere 85, he was spared protracted immobility and loss of independence, which one can only see as a mercy.

Don't be surprised/ embarrassed if you feel relief rather than 'proper' grief at first, if it's been a long stressful time for you.
