May I add my own greetings to board members and apologise for my lack of postings in the past six months when I've been caring for my mother and have had little time to listen to Radio 3 and little facile internet access. I hope that 2015 will bring me more time to listen, to ponder, and to exchange views with those fellow boarders who care so deeply about the future of music on our former favourite channel.

Lovely to see you again Ed! How many wonderful debates and exchanges we've had, what writings relished, I've missed you so! I've been in a very similar situation to yours - thankfully with internet access intact, if rather business & domestically dominated... but, with time to listen in the still of the night and the quiet of the dawn...
Perhaps one day in the New Year we can "lift the great song again", and share our love of music and adventurous listening! (Perhaps not with the current Radio 3's help...)
Here's to you Ed., for no other reason than personal fondness...

I always welcome news from Bert Coules - and it's a couple of months since he posted. I often hear his name on Radio 4 extra - most recently, listening to his great adaptation of Monk's-Hood... with the inimitable Philip Madoc as Cadfael and - what a joy - Michael Hordern as the narrator.
The Abbey's ill benefactor needs Brother Cadfael's ointment, deadly if ingested
Cheers, Bert

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
