Thanks for kind thoughts. Alas, have had spell in hospital with cellulitis. At home now, very weak.
Why do we have to get old ? NHS have supplied me with a new vehicle, a Zimmer. I expect all local dogs to attack me now - at least with a walking stick I could defend myself much better.
Yes, back to my Haydn Qt's, very satisfying & well worth waiting for, although, out of practice with my ' cello. Will have to cancel my performance of the Kodaly Sonata at the Carnegie Hall. - oh dear

Much love to you all, gamba

Physically old perhaps gamba but like salymap your natural spirit shines through, full of wit & good humour in the face of great exasperation.

You may have lost your Carnegie Hall gig but Caliban has found an interesting new venue in West London and I'm ure they'll welcome you with open arms

Best wishes for a gentle recovery

Very glad to see your post, gamba. Yes, getting old…. My mother is now in a home where she seems to be happy. Unlike you gamba, although my mother has few health problems, her mind has shrunk. Thankfully, it hasn’t gone, not quite yet, so I am grateful. It is just that I am so far away.

Never mind the Carnegie Hall. Wait for the call from Wigmore Hall. So much nicer.

                  All the best

Doversoul, I'll have to get that C major scale sorted out first !

Sorry to hear of your problem. Can be worse than the physical. I'm suspicious of someone close to me, but can as yet, say nothing. Anyway, hope all works out well.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I hope all works out well for you, too.

And I wouldn’t mind a Boccherini or two in the programme…

Thank you, salymap. They are fine so far.

In just over a month, we’ll be heading back to spring, so let’s keep our spirit up.

                            Keep warm and keep well.

                              Dear gamba
I hope all is as well as can be with you. Have you got the C major scale sorted out yet? And I am still waiting for the Boccherini.

                              Dear salymap
It’s good that there is no need to ask after you on this thread, now that you are posting. Keep well and keep posting.
