only that he is giving his tenth annual local recital next Saturday and hopes to continue doing so until he is 90, according to the local paper

Too late, repealed in 2008. And despite what you heard on the media, it always was the Trade Descriptions Act. False analogies with Trades Union Council I'm afraid!
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Our dear eighthobstruction doesn't seem to have been seen hereabouts for getting on for 3 weeks... Anyone heard from him?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I greatly miss Jayne Lee Wilson and her erudite, beautifully written reviews, one of the great glories of this Forum. Such a pity that she appears to have left after the fallout with Ariosto. Has anyone been in contact to try and persuade her back? It saddens me when really worthwhile people leave in such circumstances.

                          PLEASE COME BACK JLW!

                              Beautifully put, Pet, and thirded.

What I take to be the offending spat and thread had entirely passed me by, only just found it by backtracking to JLW's latest posts. Jayne's posts are an education. She's also one of the Forum's small band of competent birdwatchers

I am sure that Jayne wouldn’t wilt away just because somebody made a comment or two about her posts. She is made of much sterner stuff that that. She has mentioned some health and other problems more than once in the past. Let’s hope it isn’t these that are keeping her away from the forum.
