I heard from our friend in the east last month and am hopeful he will be able to pitch into the fray before too long.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Micaela/coco rather went for it in her first few days and then went cold turkey - I hope she returns now she's had a chance to get to know us all a bit better!

Yes. I heard of one chap who got shafted just about the year he retired. The whole fund gone for a Burton. Criminal I'd say. At least if you get shafted earlier in life you can recover, but it's almost impossible later on. So much for regulation, government plans etc. - often they're just not worth anything if things go wrong. Going from an expectation of a reasonable life to virtually no life at all must be very hard to take.

In this country we also have a particularly toothless legal system when it comes to a lot of injustices. It may even make judgements and awards, but very frequently these don't get paid, and despite some efforts to ensure that they do, the law seems hopeless in many cases.

Bury your money in a tin box (maybe several such), and mark it (them) with an X on a map!

I'm not up on these things, but isn't that what those in the know call a near-oxymoron?

I just meant, she might have a better idea whom to engage with, and whom to avoid at all costs

Yes, you're absolutely right. There is little security, and no possibility of justice.

I think that coco wont return, somehow I get the feeling that she probably just wanted to talk about cellos and the like?

Shame really, we can do cellos and cello music. However, she did seem only really interested in one CD, and went a bit OTT in asking about it.

Yes, I think that was thye only topic she wanted to talk about. Quite a colourful character, nonetheless.

Probably got more to do with the fact when people weren't ridiculing her or Julian Lloyd, they were drooling over her. Not a recipe for long-term subscription, I'd say.

What happened to Roberta? She seemed to be getting on nicely, retailing stories about playing through her Dad's record collection, until she seemed to take umbrage at something, or someone.

Our old chum, and the conductor's friend, Cellini (aka Ariosto; aka Big Jamie) is sorely missed.

wise words. She even had some daft folk confusing the LLoyd Webbers....
