This very sad news has prompted me to break my current silence on the forum. BBM, for me, was one of a kind: always there, always upbeat, always knowledgeable, always kind, always interesting in his musical choices. Never argumentative, often funny... sui generis.

I was shocked (but not altogether surprised) by PJPJ's message when I read it.

RIP Tim - you were a true and rare gentleman. I shall miss you and your posts.

My sincere condolences to your wife and family.

So it is, FF, thanks. I didn't go back in the Stormy Weather II posts quite far enough to find it , #9105.

Very sad news. BBM was an ever present, positive contributor to the forum, whatever tribulations he faced.

        RIP Tim

One of his most endearing traits was the nature of this posts, usually one sentence zippy bursts of enthusiasm ending in exclamation points. And if he ever bought a fraction of the CDs he said that he was going to buy, Sue must have quite a pile of them on her hands

I hope someone is in touch with Sue to let her see (if she hadn't access to Tim's password here) the comments and tributes people have made.

No one needs a password to read posts, only to access other permissions - posting, PMs, viewing the member list &c. which require log in.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                    I'd hoped that you had/would.

Given how many messages there are here, from a relatively small group of people, I think his send off will not be a small affair? He seems to have touched many lives.

Very sad to hear about this. I was looking forward to hearing how his newest enterprises with arranging and performances would go.

                        Tim RIP.

Rejoining the forum to express my sympathy to BBM/Tim’s family and friends. I often wondered how he found time to listen to so much music!

BBM’s wife reports on fb that the funeral is tomorrow in Worth, Sussex, 2p.m. She also reports that she would like to know beforehand but unfortunately didn’t specify a mechanism to do this…Worth Abbey, Paddockhurst Rd

Presumably she'd like to know how many people are likely to attend.
I'm sure Tim will have a great and grand send-off.
