What a wonderful turn of phrase! That’s like SHOUTING BY USING UPPER CASE IN EMAILS, correct?

(At last, a necessary injection of humour by EA in this otherwise bottom-seeking miserable thread.)

Decisions publically revealed should if disagreed with, be challenged publically, in my view.

War can be just on both sides: "La guerre peut être juste de deux côtés à la fois." Or unjust. There comes a point when we agree to move on, all opinions heard.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

It's not only the for3 forum which has issues like this.

              Here is another - https://musescore.com/groups/counter...iscuss/5107792

              with a more detailed explanation - https://bernardgreenberg.com/WhyILeft.html

The site in question has had IMO a totally chaotic and anarchic mode of operation - but maybe that was inevitable given the way it has developed and its very wide - worldwide - reach.

It's a pity, but there are several factors. One is a poor software interface - so one often can't see the wood from the trees, and another is the lack of any sensible overall guidance - but then that would raise questions of "democracy" etc. There is also a lot of confusion about the commercial site (well - almost commercial) - musescore.com and the free to download program MuseScore which is freely available from musescore.org. Even so both the sites are hosted by the same organisation. Confusion abounds everywhere!

Several other very good contributors to that site have also left recently.

I'm not very surprised to note Joseph K's absence over the past week. JK was a more regular presence than myself, and I was not surprised at his disappearance, since I think his dialogue with Richard Barrett had probably come to mean a lot to him. Since he has stopped looking in it's not possible to PM him via the forum, so admittedly this is a lot of supposition on my part; while I have no email address for him I do have a phone number resulting from a meet-up at the London Jazz Festival a few years ago, but I'm not sure if he would appreciate contact from me; in any case he has my number too, should he wish to get in touch. If anyone else has heard from him, they might like to let me know.

I am slightly surprised - hopefully it won't last too long.

If you really want to try to contact him with a bit of ingenuity you might find him on YouTube. I'll leave it at that.

I hope he comes back too - and even RB is still showing as a guest. I have seen web sites where good and valued members disappear - and everything is removed - leaving no trace of their previous online existence. Indeed that is the way it seems to work in MuseScore.com if users choose to disappear, though some say that they're going to leave, but still leave their material up - which can be helpful.

Supposition on my part, but I note that JK has been restored to 'full member' from 'guest' so I'd suggest that he has taken himself away from the Forum for a short while to cool down after the issues of last week. He's not had a particularly happy time recently and a short absence will allow him to take stock and return in due course

                    Just a thought.

I'm not aware that JK was in any way involved in last week's events, or that there was any change in his status.

I too was puzzled by this suggestion. There were indeed changes made, but not to this member.

JK's status definitely did say 'guest' when I looked one day last week.

That’s a shame that he has left. He seemed quite connected to Richard Barrett, though. Which is again a shame, because you don’t belong to a group, just because of another person being there.

                              Agreed.

I did wonder if they actually knew each other - rather than being just online acquaintances. I still hope JK - indeed both of them - come back eventually. RB is probably very busy and JK had a glitch with a job not too long ago. I hope he has got that sorted, or will do soon enough.

Presumably the PM feature doesn't work to Guest members - or does it?

I also hope that LMcD is getting better news - probably doesn't want to be bothered checking in on web sites right now.

JK is still a full member, according to the membership list. Richard is very easily contactable by various means via the Internet, not least via FB, but a quick Internet search for his name, the limiting criterion of "composer" and "contact" will offer alternative means.
