Sorry, to have led you up a West Country path, Jayne: I misread the Runes.

FHG a composer? Ah well, that explains his peculiarly entrenched position against Ravel's masterly orchestration of Mussorgsky, and the composer always knows best attitude that he never took too much trouble to conceal!

Oh God, so I still don't know.... please don't worry, Ed, my dear friend.........these anonymous posters!

          Anyone else...?
Fhg might create some major masterpiece and we'd never know.... (he might enjoy that of course....)...

I note that he appears to have dropped by this afternoon (16:07) to check the score.

And what do you mean “ Might” ?

( I expect he was checking out which grace notes to use when he popped by...... can’t live with us, can’t live without us !)

                  Indeed.

I can relate to the saving of time aspect, but that only works if one really has something better, or more important to do. Some studies of forums such as these have suggested that they do have a social "benefit" (to some) so they are not just for information exchange. I visit forums (this one mostly) for both purposes.

I can understand that writing music might take some time, unless one is a composer such as Mozart or Rossini. Good luck to Ferney with his own works.

In the meantime, apart from fhg's departure, it's good to see that you are still watching - occasionally. Best wishes - and to Ferney too.

Indeed to French Frank it is. I hope these people will come back, perhaps Asan ordinary member. If need be I’m willing to become a host, if anyone feels fit that I’m able to. I’m admin on another Facebook group.

Sometimes, the best disguise is no disguise. Perhaps, he's Brian Ferneyhough, posting from a safe distance in California. If so, his disguise is his Mastery of the New Complexity, Jayne.

He denied that one long ago!

I wonder how much of a difference it would make to either the membership list or our postings if we dispensed with the anonymity and had to use our real names (as some do)?
