It's been interesting reading the comments made in the past 12 months or so on this thread. I find myself empathising with Petrushka's comments about engaging less with the Forum - in that for me a new job, its disappointments and attendant pressures, moving to another country and other factors (further commitments and diversions, fatigue; apathy even) meant that I devoted less time listening to R3 or keeping in touch with FoR3 amongst other things.
My loss I'm sure. Yet while there may perhaps be a lot on R3 that we can all be critical of or disappointed in - there is still much that imho can still engage and inform. I will attempt to be in-tune more often!
I've spent much of today catching up with Record Review broadcasts on the Listen Again facility. I considered commenting on the Beethoven Symphony thread but chickened out for fear of being exposed as an ignoramus and I will spend the next few hours on a mission to trumpet the virtues of Bruckner 6 on any Brexit Message Board I may chance upon ! I am sure they will appreciate it as this will, no doubt, add much that is positive to civilised, considered, political discourse !!
I jest of course.
I do miss Am51 mind...
All the best everybody and a Happy Easter to you all
Tevot - I was looking you up just a few days ago, and wondering because your name was so often on the list of 'online members' even when you didn't post.. Good to get your news - good luck and happy Easter back
All the best everybody and a Happy Easter to you all
Best Wishes,
Tevot
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
He updated his Facebook page on Monday, so he's still around. But he hasn't been a regular poster for quite a while, and hasn't logged in for four months. Conclude he has other things to do.
Nothing heard from our regular and much appreciated contribulor Ed Grimsdale.
A former patron and supporter of the BSO, but now resident in Buckinghamshire.
I have tried a Bournemouth telephone number which he gave me, but there was no reply.
Has anyone heard any news?

Are we talking about edashtav? (I can't find an "Edgrimsdale" in the member list, and don't remember reading any posts by anyone with this name.) If so, ed frequently takes time out from the Forum, usually returning once the Proms have been announced.

Hello my old friend Hornspieler! I think you put that quaint 'Northern' name in on purpose so as to get some reactions! Having said that, I agree with you. 'Edashtav' was always interesting and nicely provocative in his postings and I, too, miss him.

Hope all is well with him and that he pops up like a dahlia in late July as normal.
