Aeolium's been back very recently, making his usual constructive contributions.

... can't find anything more recent than 29 June. Can you recall where he posted more recently?

Seems a good time to send good wishes to Calum da Jazzbo, hoping all is well.

Also, nothing heard from doversoul since the 11th on this forum: best wishes, however and wherever you may be, dovers!

Indeed. Good wishes to both, and particularly a much improved year for Calum in 2017. But, yes, dover, wherefore art thou? Wherever, have a good Christmas.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

So many people over the years have thought that 'wherefore' means 'where' that that is what it has come to mean.

Shakespeare, you, and I may know it means 'why' - but how can we prevail over the majority?

... except when used by Shakspere in R&J - the meaning there depends upon it meaning 'why'.
