Mum became ill with multiple problems in October. 24/7 care at home, then followed a long, long autumn of visits to surgeries, health centres, then a&e, two admissions to hospital and finally a two-week stay for the surgery she needed - which was successful. Medics were trying to take a light touch with a 94-year old, eventually using a spinal anaesthetic for the surgery itself. Along the way I caught flu for the first time in years (oh, it would be the 3-week variety - I know which taxi driver it was too) which really compounded the strain (and knocked my ears out for days)... got the jab at Boots afterwards, horses, stable doors etc...
Mum's much stronger now, but we're both laying back doing as close to nothing as possible, sleep, birds, cats... isn't there some kind of religious festival at this time of year...?
Listening time is limited but precious! (But still adventurous of course...)

JLW: Good to see you back on here but sorry to hear of the problems you've had. Christmas wishes to you and yours and hope for better in 2016.

Beefy just makes it up as he goes along, though to be fair, I think the forum did shut down under the old BBC regime. No doubt someone will be along soon to confirm or deny.
Does this forum shut down for tomorrow, anybody know??
Certainly not!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I misread the question, I thought S_A was asking if anyone knew if the forum is closed on Xmas day - sorry for any confusion.
Anyway, "makes it up as he goes along"? - where would we be without improvisation
