Is there any recent news of Peter Katin? - he last posted last May. I thought of him having recently bought his early stereo Mendelssohn concertos, spinning now behind me very pleasingly in a (so far) clean LP copy

Less , it's only a Decca Eclipse pressing not the original SXL, but ah well, it's the music that counts!

EDIT Looks like an SXL pressing would be immensely valuable....

                ....cos it was never issued

(The Eclipse was the first stereo issue, following a mono LXT and a mono ACL.)

I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Saw Peter Katin's name listed as being on-line the other day - his full name being printed in lower case, if my memory is accurate! Either way, I send my warmest regards.

Here is the burden of a email that I've received via hornspieler [hs]:

                    I am Pam’s cousin, Jenny. { Pam translates into salypmap in For3speak}

I wanted to just let you know that she has gone downhill somewhat recently, and has been unable to log on as often to her troublesome computer, or access E-mails.
When I visit her we do usually log on and post on MB’s or E-mail, and see how we get on, but not as often now.
She wanted you to know that she sends her best regards and hopes that you (hs) and your family are well.

Feel free to write to me at this e-mail address, if you did want to pass any message on at some point, and I will see that she gets it.

                    So:
I'll bundle any messages that boarders want to send to salymap & forward them to hs who will use Jenny's email address as a conduit to salymap.

Pam: Sorry to hear you continue to be unwell, and that full recovery seems be immediately out reach.....I hope at least you are reasonably comfortable....tim (eighthobstruction)

In addition to ed’s offer, if anyone wishes to send salymap a card, please contact me. I have her home address.

Sorry to hear that you are struggling Pam.
                          Best wishes.

I too must add the warmest of wishes to our united desire to see your name & clever devices to keep us all 'on our toes'.

You'll just have to get to like your Ensure Plus. The chocolate version is very nice, the other flavours are horrid ! It has certainly been of great value to my return to health.

Waiting expectantly for news of your improvement, all good wishes, gamba

And it's good as ever to hear from you, too, gamba.

(And you're right about Ensure Plus - I once sampled the "banana": tasted like a mixture of powdered egg and saccharine! (Though very useful for holding the bathroom tiles in place whilst the adhesive "took"! )

                                Luxury!
When I were poorly there were no flavours. I had glasses of wallpaper paste with LUMPS. Swallow that!

But, it did the trick. So bottoms up!
