Indeed so - she has and I echo your sentiments and hopes wholly.

gamba, I trust the Haydn string quartets are keeping you happy.

salymap, I hope you’ve had your hearing aids properly adjusted so that you can listen to music.

      All the best

Salymap is having problems with her laptop at the moment. I hope salymap'll approve if I reply to doversoul's good wishes by saying that she banged her head in a fall a year ago almost exactly and ever since she has been unable to discern musical pitch so it's not a question of adjusting her hearing aids, sadly. No-one has been able to explain this development to her and she misses listening to music terribly.

Computer problems - my own five-year-old laptop has given up the ghost ("the motherboard is knackered" to use the repairman's technical language) and I'm using a twelve-year-old machine for posting here. It's very slow, the keys are much smaller than I'm used to and sometimes they just don't work - and I can't access any links! - but it's keeping me in touch with the Forum and my e-Mails whilst I await my new machine. (Saving me money, too - I can't access my Aazon account! Well apart from he dosh I'll have to fork out for the replacement!)

Bad luck, ferney. I know what it feels like. Mine was out of commission for a week and the only way to access the Forum was on my phone. Fine for viewing but hopeless for posting anything other than very short messages. A useful back up though.

As funds are precarious at the moment, I'm getting a refurbished "pre-used" laptop with Windows - the shop I use came recommended by a computer-savvy friend, who says that they are a reliable small business.
