I think we're being a bit unfair on Ariosto here. He was only responding to a rather needlessly mischievous post referring to a "spat" between him and JLW. Unfortunately, some (it seems) always like to provoke a bit of aggro.

You really didn't want to tell us that, did you, Cali

Not that I'm jealous or anything.

Is anything known about Peter Katin?

His expertise on matters pianistic is most valuable.

Well done, Ariosto. I do the occasional fostering for dog rescues, incl. Battersea Dog Home, to give dogs a break from kennel life. Staffies make perfect pets, but since they are now overbred and usually end up in the wrong hands and are then abandoned, dog rescues are choc-a-bloc with them. Siberian Huskies are the latest “must have” fashion accessory, but need dog owners with experience of the breed.

Very true looking at the dogs for adoption page from my local RSPCA centre 80% are Staffies or staffy crosses . A friend of mine had one many years ago - a gorgeous dog unwisely named Monty as he was quite the soppiest , sweetest and least aggressive dog you could ever meet. I once took him into a pub and it was like the parting of the Red Sea - if only they had known that only their crisps were at any risk !

Wildly off post, I fancy. These last few messages (and some of their originators) should be the subject of "Pet's Corner"

                      What? No such thread?
Start one then - with a big woof woof.

Would one be allowed to discuss Bach or Offenbach on such a thread?

I'm never too sure what that means. Do they have a tendency to open three no trumps with only twelve points in hand or something like that?!?
