It looks as if it won't be long before we all - and especially those of you in London - shall be able to live with a bit less risk, once this man has gone.

I say we owe a big vote of thanks to all concerned, whether here or in Jordan, of both this government and the last, who have persevered through a long and difficult process to ensure that justice can be done.

Be careful what you wish for - and indeed of why you might think that you wish for it.

Even if and when this person might indeed leave British soil, temporarily or permanently, of his own volition or otherwise, I for one will have no especial reason to presume that I might be able thereafter to "live with a bit less risk"...
