I rather wish the Overground was a circular trip, but you have to change twice to get back where you began. (Or you could just stay at home).

Pendolinos, though, are potentially brilliant trains, though I do concur with DracoM about the lack of luggage space. Voyagers (also introduced by Virgin) are much worse.
The practice of sitting in someone else's reserved seats and avoiding eye contact is also rife on East Coast trains.

you can just change once, if you just want to get back to where you started, surely?
It certainly could confuse a person though .

it IS however, brilliant coming from the South , if you want to go to West London.

ah yes.. I was assuming that you had to cross all the bridges once, and only once.

"I want a return ticket please"
                  "where to ?"
                  "here, of course"

but probably doesn't apply on TLO.

Reminds me of a bit of graffiti, back in the days when the Tube had an ad showing Henry III asking for "A Return to the Tower of London please". Underneath someone had scribbled: "And a single for the wife".

What about people who spread themselves out and take up two or three seats? Not only are they selfish but intimidating too.

IE spread crossways over two seats and 'engrossed' in a laptop thus too busy to look up and do empathy...
And what about leaking head phones? What does one do?

Nothing to do with the topic, but both Bullock in D's posts above are his/her 43rd post.
