I don't know, but I am very sceptical that it can cope with any large catalogue. All you can do is try it. But presumably you want to buy from other suppliers as well? And what if you record from a broadcast and what to add that to your catalogue?

My OP is very loaded. If you take the trouble to read it, I state that I have made the decision to move to downloads. I then go on to ask for advice and information.

        Fair point.
But the assumption is often made in the media. These assumptions can often be wrong. The cassette never did supplant the LP. The number of CDs available did surpass the number of LPs available at that medium's height. Betamax was not crushed by VHS (but by the DVD recorder). Mini-discs did not supercede tape cassettes.

Still, I was a bit disappointed that the El-cassette didn't make a go of it.

                        Exactly
Just like all the other music in the UK
but on balance it was a good investment for the country I would say .......

He would no doubt recommend attendance at a free or academy and come out at 18 as a talented musician.
