Britten's going to be on a 50 pence piece, too, so if you find any in your change, Anna, you can send them to me.

Have you tried Nocturne, or indeed Nocturnal? I'd find it difficult to understand not finding something to attract you in those. Or of the Operas, MSND.

Of course, Elgar featured on the ÂŁ20 not so long ago...

Probably a couple of rentier widows and their hanger-on Methodists! Sorry, being flippant.
Do they really do Grimes on the beach?

I thought Britten was a conductor too.

They are doing this year. I believe they've just increased capacity because demand is so great. It's the sort of thing I might have done when I was younger, but now I'd rather have a normal theatre, I think.

i am looking forward to it - but then again I have access to a flat in Aldeburgh on Crabbe Street with a parking place- otherwise this year's festival sounds a bit murderous.

                        Lucky you! How wonderful.

I agree with your comment about Attlee.

Yes it is lucky - my parents bought it many moons ago and still love it. I remember in particular seeing the total eclipse from Aldeburgh beach .

No way any of us could afford it nowadays Aldeburgh properties seem to have been completely unaffected by the financial crisis.

Royal Mail used to issue postcards to coincide with the stamps, so a Britten postcard with a Britten stamp could be a possibility if they still do this.
