#39 Resurrection Man, thanks for that, I hadnt realised there was a controversy over whether or not glyphosate killed moss, though I am surprised to learn it may not, I thought it killed anything in the plant world that was green. I would still give it a try, because providing Anna takes my point about not letting it run off and damage plants in the lawn or wherever, there is nothing to lose (except wasting a few quid on a bottle of Roundup, but it will sooner or later have other uses, I am sure). I would wait until it is warmer, however; I've just sprayed off some grass I want to cultivate, and the effect, being temperature-dependent, is very slow in this cold weather.
I'm sure you already know, ums, but the made up RoundUp is a waste of money IMO....we always buy the concentrate and make up our own solution. ....edit : my wife makes up the solution
The preparation bought from a local hardware shop, whose name I'm afraid I now forget, did a very good job on our trees-shaded washing line compound last August, which required "knowing" that rain would fall within 24 hours, I think it was, waiting for it to take effect in about a week, then brushing off the browned dead moss with a strong-bristled broom. Seven months later the moss has not returned to the treated areas.
Thanks for replies re moss eradication. I find I have some RoundUp in the cuboard so will try that first. Never heard of vinegar being effective but a quick google just now says it works so I'll also try that on a separate patch.

How old is the RoundUp, Anna? It does have a finite shelf-life.
Three days of sun , no work, and so on.
