What a bunch of uncharitable misery guts. Comic relief has already raised a record-breaking 75 million pounds which will go to help those who are desperately in need. Some of the comedy may not be to your tastes, but do you really have nothing better to do than come on here and slag off such a worthy endeavour? To raise such a large sum when much of the country are having a very hard time financially relects admirably on the great British public.

    Present company excepted.

But then you would like all public services farmed out to charity, wouldn't you, Mr Pee?

Perhaps the people who aren't having a hard time should take a lead.
Public service funded out of tax. It could just work.

It wasn't Radio 3 that raised £75m, was it? How much did the rest of the country raise?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

An odd observation, FF. I'm sure some Radio3 listeners contributed to the grand total. I certainly did.

And since when has Radio3 been a seperate country anyway?

                  Dictionary corner

The point of my remark was that most people seemed not to be - what was your word? slagging off? the charity event itself but the particular way it impinged on Radio 3's broadcasting. Okay on BBC One which probably did raise most of the sum, since most people would be watching it on television. But Radio 3 might have found some way of being funny for its contribution.

And since when has Radio3 been a seperate country anyway?
1946 (if you include the Third Programme).
