Suddenly I am in a Mahler mood again.

A different version of Mahler 4 for each car journey last week.

Looking forward to some league cup action tomorrow.

For your money, does anybody sing it better than Barbara Bonney, Alison?

Hi Rob and any others out there.
Oxford city were/are in conference north. Bet there are a few folks around the dreaming spires who be surprised to find they were in the north .

haven"t heard the PMD thing, very much on my list. Still suffering from Schubert Sonata fever amongst a lot of other stuff.

Enjoyed what will prolly be my last Prom of the season, the double Brahms on Tuesday. Not perfect, but most enjoyable.

Wish I could be at the BPO concert Friday, but Q will be immense, and work has to be done.

Hope your daughters move is going well.

Funny old place, Lowestoft! I believe the RPO have a residency there.

So pleased to get a point against the Arsenal. Nigel Pearson is doing well.

Fine fine win for Saintys boys too.

Many years ago I went on a mini pilgrimage to all the Britten related places.
I was impressed that there is a shopping centre named after him in Lowestoft.

...thought I'd get my opening Sunday night gambit in early, since the quote above was on the 'Thursday' thread...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Clever though - how they can inter-morph details of their physiognomies.

Nearly as bad as the originals !!

Any old how, good evening Sunday nighters.
Hope you have all had a weekend of beautiful weather as we have here.

Proms over for another year, which is a sad moment. I'm putting a few music dates in my diary to help ease the onset of autumn.
Some DSCH and Prokofiev at the RFH should be first up, next week. anybody else got any goodies lined up?

                                Weather fairly indifferent in Essex.

In a way I've have enough of the Proms and look to a new season of listening.

Tonight I'm being very conservative with Brahms 3 (BBCMM) and Beethoven 9 LSO/Haitink.
